GS visited to Directorate on 29/02/2012

Today, I along with Ex-GS Shri Roop Chand visited Directorate and met with the  Member (P), various DDGs and other concerned officers. The following issues were discussed with them. The present status in respect of the issues is furnished below for the information of all CHQ Office Bearers, Circle Secretaries and members.

 1.   Up-gradation of GP of IP from Rs. 4200/- to Rs. 4600/-.

File relating to implementation of Hon. CAT Ernakulam Bench judgement dated 19/10/2011 is still under examination in view of our letter dated 22/2/2012. File is likely to be sent to Ministry of Finance shortly.

Paid Holiday to employees on the day of Poll

Election Commission of India has declared to grant of paid holiday to employees on the day of poll in Punjab, Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
The General Elections to the Legislative Assemblies of Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, 2012. As per the section 135B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, which provides for the grant of paid holiday to the employees on the day of poll. The rule of section 135B says,

National Pension Schemes will be linked to Aadhar, says Jairam

Ministry of Rural Development
The Rural Development Minister Shri Jairam Ramesh today said that National Social Assisstance Programme, NSAP will be completely restructured and all payments under the scheme will be done through Aadhar-based payment system. Talking to a select group of media persons here, he said, the restructured system will be in place by 10th of March this year and it will ensure that each beneficiary under old age, disabilities and widow pension schemes will get one’s entitlement every month and there will be no delay in payments.

This has to the DOS command I use most today. ipconfig will tell you the IP settings for the current computer such as what your current IP is and what subnet/gateway you are on. It is great for troubleshooting. Here are the two most useful commands for ipconfig and usage:

ipconfig /release – This will release any IP information that the computer was given and make your IP address 0.0.0.0

PRESS STATEMENT

The General Strike of Indian working class for which the call was given by the Central Trade Unions and endorsed by all the Federations and the Central and State Govt. Employees elicited the largest participation today. The increased participation of workers in the industrial action was indicative of the growing realization of the need to struggle against the present economic policies of the Govt. of India.

Kids of widowed daughters to be included in CGHS

 It’s a move that will go a long way in empowering widowed/separated daughters dependent on their parents. Last month, the ministry of health and family welfare decided to expand the ambit of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) to include dependent children of widowed/separated daughters as beneficiaries under the government’s comprehensive health scheme. Till now, serving central government employees, pensioners, current and former members of Parliament, serving and retired judges of Supreme Court and high court, freedom fighters, accredited journalists, former governor and former vice president of India could avail of CGHS benefits.
“The move has been initiated with the aim of empowering widowed and separated daughters who live with parents who are CGHS beneficiaries,” said a health ministry official.

HC directs compensation to deceased CBI officer”s family


New Delhi, Feb 26,2012 (PTI): Nearly nine years after the death of a young CBI officer in a road accident, the Delhi High Court has directed the insurancecompany to pay Rs 23.5 lakh as compensation to his family.
It also directed the company to pay Rs 3.5 lakh to a senior officer, who became permanently disabled, and further ordered Rs 1.5 lakh to be paid to another CBI officer who had sustained injuries in the accident that had taken place on May 21, 2003.

Government official caught red-handed in Haryana

Jind, Feb 26, 2012(PTI): A state government official was caught red-handed by a team of vigilance officials allegedly accepting bribe from a customer in return for providing him relief in penalty amount.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Randhir.
Randhir Singh, a Commercial Assistant with the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, was nabbed yesterday by the team while accepting a sum of Rs one lakh from a customer Ramanand for providing relief in the penalty by making changes in the official record.
Ramanand was found consuming more electricity than the alloted load in a departmental audit and was facing a penalty of around Rs six lakh.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against Randhir.

Eleven employees of AG office suspended for indiscipline


Allahabad, Feb 26, 2012 (PTI): An explosive situation has arisen at the office of the Accountant General of Uttar Pradesh here following the suspension of 11 employees on grounds of indiscipline and lodging of FIRs against 100 unnamed persons who had taken part in an agitation inside the office premises two days ago.
Trouble had begun on Friday morning when Deputy Accountant General (Administration) Sachin Kapoor, in a bid to fix the late-comers, got the gates of the premises locked and asked those who had reported for duty in time to sign the attendance register, police said.

Trade Unions Reject PM's Appeal to Call off Strike

Trade unions have rejected Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's appeal to call off the all-India strike on Tuesday.
Dr. Singh reportedly got in touch with the Congress-backed Indian National Trade Union Congress president G. Sanjeeva Reddy and urged him to convey his appeal to the apex body of the unions coordinating the strike.
It is the first time since independence that trade unions of all hues have got together to register their protest on a wide range of issues stemming out of the liberalisation policy.

Sources close to the DOP&T informed that the issue of granting one increment to the government servants, whose increment date falls between February 2006 and June 2006, has been forwarded to Finance Ministry for its approval. According to the sources, the Finance Ministry gave its approval to this proposal as agreed by the Government in the National Anomaly Committee.

BSNL Introduces Tablet computers

J. Sathyanarayana appointed Secretary (Information Technology)

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shri J. Sathyanarayana, IAS (AP:77), against the post of secretary, department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology that has been taken out of the Central Staffing scheme. Task Force on an Aadhaar Enabled Unified Payment Infrastructure Submits Report to Finance Minister; FM Calls for Upscaling and Implementation of Pilot Projects in More Areas


The Union Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee said that Aadhaar-Enabled E-payment system would help not only in ensuring the timely payments directly to the intended beneficiaries but would also help in reducing the time taken, transaction costs and the leakages among others.  The Finance Minister said that this would also help in bringing transparency in the system and reducing avoidable delays.  The Finance Minister Shri Pranab Mukherjee was speaking after receiving the Final Report of the Task Force on Aaadhar-Enabled Unified Payment Infrastructure presented to him by Shri Nandan Nilekan, Chairman UIDAI and the Task Force, here today.

Income Tax Deduction on your Children’s Education u/s. 80C and 80E of the Income Tax Act, 1961

The cost of educating our children is rising consistently. It’s a matter of concern for all of us. One relief is the tax benefit provided for spending on children’s education. The Income Tax Act provides a direct deduction on account of fees paid for the education of dependent children. The act also provides for deduction on account of interest on loans taken for higher education of children.

Under Section 80C on Tuition Fees Paid

This deduction in respect of school fees is covered under Section 80C of the I-T Act. A parent can claim a deduction of payment made for tuition fee to any university, college, school or any other educational institution.
