12 year old Bihar boy clears Class 12 after cracking IIT - JEE

Patna, May 29, 2012(IANS): After cracking the highly competitive Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), Satyam Kumar, the 12-and-half-year-old boy from Bihar has now passed Class 12 with 85 percent marks.

Satyam has become the youngest in the country to clear the Class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination, family sources Tuesday claimed.

AIRF: MACP anomalies to be settled in the next meeting of National Anomaly Committee

All India Railwaymen Federation General Secretary and one of the member of National Anomaly Committee Shri.Shiv Gopal Mishra has written a letter to the Secretary of DOPT pertaining to the issues pending before the National Anomaly Committee. He expressed in that letter that the long and large number of pending issues has created frustration among all the Central Government employees, particularly Railwaymen. No Plan for introducing CGHS in new cities

The Central Government has no proposal to extend Central Govt Health Scheme (CGHS) to new cities in India.  This was stated by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare Shri.Ghulam Nabi Azad.  When answering the question in Lok Sabha regarding the subject of CGHS covered cities, the Minister said that the at present no proposal to expand CGHS to new locations due to severe resource constraints, especially the acute shortage of qualified medical and paramedical professionals, besides financial and logistic constraints.

Common Entrance Exam for IITs, NITs, IIITs from 2013

From 2013, aspiring candidates for IITs and other central institutes like NITs and IIITs will have to sit under new a format of common entrance test which will also take plus two board results into consideration.
The announcement was made today by HRD minister Kapil Sibal after chairing a meeting of the joint councils of IITs, NITs and IIITs. Emphasising that there was no "dissent" among the councils about the move, he acknowledged there "was a lot of resistance during the consultation process from the IIT system". IIT senates especially the faculty federation had been opposing the new format.

Marks obtained in CBSE Exams cannot be given under RTI: HC

New Delhi, May 27, 2012(PTI): In a significant ruling, the Delhi High Court has held that marks obtained by a student in CBSE board exam cannot be revealed under the transparency law as it would “defeat” the purpose of the new grading system.

The court set aside the verdict of a single judge bench and the Central Information Commission, which had asked the Central Board of Secondary Education to reveal marks obtained by a girl in her Class X board examination in 2010.

New Pension System - Lok Sabha News

The below information was given by the  Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance Shri.Namo Narain Meena in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on 4th May 2012. 

The New Pension System (NPS) was extended to all citizens of India w.e.f. 01st May, 2009. 

A total of 21 Points of Presence (PoPs) were registered in the year 2009 with 844 branches of the PoPs acting as Points of Presence - Specified Points (PoP-SPs). As on date, the number of PoPs registered are 53 with 19463 branches of the PoPs acting as PoP-SPs.

An action taken report on the issues referred to by the staff side:

1	Separate orders communicating the decision that no mail office will be closed for next three years and no dislocation of staff to places outside headquarters.	Instructions issued vide letter no. 28-8/2011-D dated 14.05.2012, a copy of which is enclosed.
2	Orders communicating the decisions about no closure/merger of post offices if no simultaneous relocation is possible.	Instructions issued vide letter No.40-6/2011-Plg(Pt) dated 21.2.12

Education Loans for Engineering Students

The India Banks’ Association (IBA) had circulated a Model Educational Loan Scheme for implementation to its member banks with broad operational guidelines. Banks may adopt the scheme with discretion to make changes as deemed fit.

The scheme is for all Indian Nationals who have secured admission to professional/technical courses in India or abroad through an entrance test/merit based selection process.

As per the scheme, the assessment of the educational loan is based on the employability and earning potential of the student upon completion of the course.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Finance, Shri Namo Narain Meena in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.

Directorate of Estates, Ministry of Urban Development had earlier in the month of January 2012 (O.M.No.D-11028/23/82/-Regions (Vol.II) dated 30.01.2012) revised the Room Charges for holiday homes operated by it.
