The order related to the title of this post has been issued by the divisional super of Howrah Division vide his memo no. B7/RECTT/PA Cadre from GDS/Outsider Quota/Howrah Dn./2010-2011 Dtd.16.08.2012. As per the content of that memo,all eligible GDS officials have to submit their willingness for this said exam.through their concerned SDIP,ASPOS,SR.PM,HOWRAH H.O. ,PM,SHALKIA H.O. All the willingness received from the eligible GDS employees should be forwarded to the divisional office within 27.08.2012 positively with required attestations & recommendation for supplying the OMG application kit.

            In accordance with the Directorate’s letter no. 60-9/2009-SPB-I dated 08.05.12, it has been decided to hold the Examination among the GDS officials for selection to the cadre of PA/SA, for the unfilled departmental quota vacancies of 2010 and 2011 in Tamilnadu Circle.  The Examination will be held on the same date and time decided for the Direct recruitment  from open market as per the same syllabus etc.  The eligibility  and other conditions are furnished below:

            The vacancy position for the Examination  for both the years  2010 and 2011 Division-wise is furnished separately in the Annexure.  This may be communicated to all the GDS officials including those on leave.

The cost of Application form is Rs. 50/- sale of Application forms will commence from 11-08-2012 and closes by 25-09-2012 in all Head post offices. Examination fee Rs. 200/- is to be paid in ACG 67/UCR.

The Examination for eligible Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) to fill up the unfilled vacancies of LGO Examination will also be held as per extant Rules/guidelines of the department on the same day and time decided for Direct Recruitment as per the same syllabus etc.

Fixation of TRCA to the newly appointed GDS - Clarification

It was clarified by Postal Directorate vide letter no 5-1/07-WS-1 dated 16.7.2012 that the allowances of newly appointed GDS BPMs on or after 01.01.2006 may be fixed at the minimum of of the corresponding TRCA slab borne by the post against which the appointment is made.

He joined hands with those petty- minded “anti-NFPE” lobby and betrayed the cause of GDS. He betrayed Corn. Adinarayan, the Legendary Leader of the Postal Trade Union movement who sacrificed his whole life for GDS. He objected even shouting the slogan “NFPE Zindabad’.

A reference is invited in this Directorate letters of even number dated 14 Dec 2010 and 01 Aug 2011 vide which the scheme for engagement of GDS on compassionate grounds with merit points & procedure for selection as modified was circulated and made effective for all the compassionate engagement cases to be considered on or after 01.01.2011.

2. The scheme has recently been reviewed in this Directorate and in partial modification in the existing provisions of the Scheme, the following provisions are hereby ordered to be substituted with the approval of the competent authority:

REGULARIZATION OF CASUAL LABOURERS - WINS A LEGAL BATTLE

After waiting 30 years, 150 postal staff regularised

Chennai, Mar 9, 2012(TNN): After waiting for 30 years, close to 150 employees of the postal department will finally become regular employees, thanks to the intervention of the Central Administrative Tribunal ( CAT). A bench of G Shanthappa, judicial member and R Satapathy, administrative member, passed orders on the matter.

The applicants were appointed mazdoors with the department of posts in 1982. While joining, they were assured that their services would be regularised. Based on directions in a Supreme Court judgment, the department introduced a scheme in 1991 which stipulated that all casual labourers who worked for eight hours a day for 240 days every year as on November 29, 1989 would be conferred temporary status.

CONSIDERATATION OF COMPASSIONATE ENGAGEMENT ON GDS POSTS

Department of Posts issued Orders for Consideration of Compassionate Engagement on GDS posts to Dependants of Gramin Dak Sevaks Discharged on Medical Grounds based on proof of invalidation prior to 14.12.2010 (The period From 01.01.1996 to 13.12.2010 by the prescribed appointing authority based on medical invalidation by a medical board of a Government Hospital and the disability would cover only the disabilities mentioned and defined in Section 2 of the PWD Act, 1995." While considering the cases under this provision, Head of the Circle would personally ensure that only the cases fulfilling the requisite conditions are considered for compassionate engagement)

GDS CASE – MINISTER’S ASSURANCE

In order to implement the assurance given by Hon’ble Minister for States, Communications on 22.01.2012 to the staff side, the Postal Board has constituted a high level committee to examine the GDS cases including cash handling allowance and full protection of TRCA. The committee will submit its report within one month, Dept. of Posts Memo No. 5-1/07-WS-I dated 02.02.2012, constituting the committee, is published below: -
