OUR NEW DEMAND - 5 PROMOTIONS - ALONGWITH 7TH CPC
5 PROMOTIONS
{ EDITORIAL POSTAL LIFE – AUGUST - 2012}
In 1978, while entering in its Silver Jubilee Year, the NFPTE had organised its P&T Convention at Patna. The demand of “3 Promotions at 10, 20 and 25 years” for P&T employees was coined in that National Convention. This demand was necessitated by the fact that most of the P&T employees were retiring without even getting a single promotion in their long career in those days. The Clerical employees retired without even becoming LSG and the Postmen were retiring without even promoted as Sorting Postman or Head Postman / Mail Overseer Postman, the only hierarchical promotion available at that time. After much negotiations and struggles, ultimately the Government agreed two promotions and introduced TBOP and BCR Promotions on completion of 16 and 26 years. All P&T employees were thereafter ensured of at least two promotions. But the movement had paid some price including major punishments to cadres to win the demand of two promotions.

Sub : Amendment in constitution of All India Association of Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents Posts.
LETTER THAT SHOULD GO TO HON'BLE MINISTER THROUGH OUR GS
Sub: Disparity in the
pay scale of Inspectors Post (Group B)
I wish to bring to your kind notice the
discrimination meted out to the cadre of Inspector Post (Group B) in the
Department of Post under Ministry of Communication in the matter of Grade pay
in comparison to the grade pay granted to the analogous cadres in other
departments such as CBEC/CBDT and Assistants in Central Secretariat.
1. The pay scale
of Inspector Post (IPs) was having a historical parity with the pay
scales of Inspectors in CBDT/CBEC/IB. However this parity was disturbed in 1986
and Inspector Post cadre is forced to perpetuate miserable fate by 1986 pay
commission. The 5th Central Pay Commission however recognized this parity in
pay scales between these cadres and placed Inspector Post in the scale of
5500-9000 on par with the Inspectors in CBEC & CBDT. The Inspectors
of CBI and IB were however placed in the scale of Rs. 6500-10500.

continued up to 20.03.1991 with a total deposit of Rs.5000/-. On
application for closure, though a sum of Rs.7572.35 was sanctioned on

and failure of the authorized messenger in complying with the requirements of
the Post Office. Due to the depositor’s absence in Bhubaneswar for his All

VARIOUS OBSTACLES OF POSTMASTER CADRE- DISCUSSION FORUM
A new word is like a fresh seed sown on the ground of the discussion.
Any work of architecture that has with it some discussion, some polemic, I think is good. It shows that people are interested, people are involved
Anyone who in discussion relies upon authority uses, not his understanding, but rather his memory.
