How to identify forged notes (Fake notes) - New website for awareness – RBI launches


Reserve Bank of India has launched a new website for creating awareness  among the public about fake notes. The website is explaining ways to detect forged notes. The website link is www.paisaboltahai.rbi.org.in, it gives visual presentation on currency notes of ten, twenty, fifty, hundred, five hundred and thousand notes denominations.

The Department of Currency Management has presented the security features of the currency on its website for public to detect easily identifiable by seeing, touching and tilting the notes. On every note more than ten pointers of security features is explained with visual description.

Public have an option to download the posters of these currency notes, which can be used as reference to identify forged notes. RBI said that considering there were 64,577 million pieces of banknotes in circulations as on 31st March 2011.
