Professional Tax for Central Government Employees

The revised rates of Professional Tax in Tamil Nadu.

Professional Tax is collected from the employees as per the table, which is given below.

Half year shall be from the 1st day of April to the 30th day of September and from the second half year 1st day of October to the 31st day of March of a year.

The professional tax amount will be deducted from the salary of August and January.

Education Loan to Minorities

New Delhi, April 24, 2012(PIB): India Banks’ Association (IBA) has circulated revised Model Educational Loan Scheme to its member banks. Banks can adopt the scheme with discretion to make changes as deemed fit. The scheme is for all students including students from minority communities. 

Indian Nationals who have secured admission to professional/technical courses in India or abroad through an entrance test/merit based selection process are eligible for educational loans under the scheme.

Habitual late attendance/absence: Unless there are particularly extenuating circumstances requiring consideration on their merits, habitual absence or habitual late attendance will mean recurrence of the offence or more than six occasions within a period of three months from the date of his first occurrence. HC orders interest on retirement benefits

Madurai, April 24, 2012(TNN): The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to pay an official 10 per cent interest on retirement benefits which were settled belatedly.

The court also ordered dropping of charges against him and allowed him to retire from service.

The petitioner, S Kumarasamy, said he had been working as an assistant commissioner of Tirunelveli corporation when he was issued a memo under Section 17 (b) on May 15, 2007. But, he was allowed to retire.

We hope many of Central Government Offices are in the process of fixation of pay and preparation of Arrears statement based on the Orders (click here for O.M dated 19.03.2012) issued by Ministry of Finance for granting one increment in the pre-revised pay scale to those who had received their pre-revised increment between Feb-06 to Jun-06 before 6CPC.

Trai: One paisa per second plan mandatory

NEW DELHI: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has asked all service providers to ensure that they offer their customers atariff plan of one paisa per second along with other offerings. 

The regulator in a tariff amendment order said it had become "mandatory" for service providers to offer in each service area at least one tariff plan each for both postpaid and prepaid subscriber with a uniform pulse rate of 'one second'.

It has been decided by the Ministry of External affairs New delhi that the present modality of delivering the speed post artilce containing Pass port"either to the addressee or his/her authorised representative on behalf of the addressee" is the most viable on and will be continued Passport delivery system. The said decision has been comminucated vide Department of Posts OM no: 57-01/2010-BD & MD dtd 11-04-2011.

Range of Seniority for promotion of Steno Gr.D

The Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) New Delhi, had issued OM Dated 16.02.2012, wherein vigilance clearance and duly filled –in option form of all the eligible officers  were called for finalistion of Range of Seniority (Zone of Promotion) for promotion of Stenographers Grade ‘D’ to Personal Assistant (PA) Grade of CSSS.   The DOPT has noted that Many Ministries/Departments are yet to send the same and reminded to send the same without any further delay.
