Discount on Air India Tickets

Shri Ajit Singh, the Minister of Civil Aviation informed Lok Sabha today in a written reply that Air India offers 50% discount on basic fare component of full normal economy class fare to Senior Citizens who have attained the age of 63 years and above on the date of commencement of travel and 50% discount on basic fare component of full normal economy class fare to students upto 26 years of age, applicable for travel between home town and place of study only.

RTI Facilities to NRI

The Right to Information (Regulation of Fee & Cost) Rules, 2005 provides that a request for obtaining information should be accompanied by an application fee of rupes ten by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque or Indian Postal Order payable to the Accounts Officer of the public authority.

In order to facilitate filing of RTI applications in Central Government public authorities by Indians living abroad, the Central Government has ‘in-principle’ agreed to start sale of Indian Postal Orders through internet on payment in foreign currency. 

This was stated by Shri V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension and Prime Minister Office in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.

International support for 26 weeks paid parental leave

An international trade union conference on maternity protection has adopted the extension of paid parental leave to 26 weeks as a priority for the Asia/Pacific/Middle East region.

Participants at the International Trade Union Confederation and International Labour Conference held last week in Singapore also signed a collective letter calling on Finance Minister Bill English not to veto Labour MP Sue Moroney's PPL Bill and to work instead to implement the objectives of the Bill.

Applicability of revised Group ‘D’ pay scales to Casual Labourers with Temporary Status.

The wages of Casual Labourers (Grant of Temporary Status and Regularizations) Scheme, 1993 issued by Dopt and were in receipt of wages based on the pre-revised S-I scale as on 1.1.2006, may be worked out and paid on the basis of the Pay Band I with Grade Pay of Rs.1800 with effect from 1.1.2006, provided they are matriculate.

In case of non-matriculate, the above benefit of wages with effect from 1.1.2006 may be extended only after imparting the requisite training by the respective Departments.

In convergence push, NREGA card to carry Aadhar number

Online cards issued under the government's flagship rural jobs scheme will now include the beneficiary's 12-digit 'Aadhar' number issued under the Centre's multi-crore unique ID project that has drawn more brickbats than bouquets.

Over the next three months, state governments will update the registration data, including Aadharnumbers, of beneficiaries under theMahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in an exercise to weed out ghost cards.

The Union Labour & Employment Minister Shri Mallikarjun Kharge has informed the Lok Sabha that
Companies have not given free hand and have to abide by the provisions of the various labour laws. As far as contract labour are concerned, the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, 1970 regulates the working conditions of the contract labour so as to ensure payment of wages and provisions of essential amenities.

Normally , central government employees get a hike in their salaries in every 10 years when the government implements the Pay Commission. They are also getting a small hike through the yearly increment and dearness allowance to tackle the inflation.

According to some reliable sources , which says that in the period from 2006 to 2012, the percentage of increase in prices of essential commodities have crossed 75%. Depending upon these reports , the DA which the central government employees are now receiving is much less.

Sign into Multiple Google Accounts at a time in Single Browser

In these days most of the people have two or more email accounts. But if we have multiple accounts then also in a single browser we are only allowed to sign into only one account at a time. Other wise we have to launch different browsers and access these accounts. But today I got a solution for this problem. Google allows us to access multiple accounts at same time. Many of us not known about this feature.

New Delhi, MAY 1, 2012(PIB): The Central government employees wishing to venture out to India’s North-East, have reasons to cheer.

The government on Monday extended its earlier order of relaxation of LTC rules so that the employees could continue to travel by air to North-Eastern Region and avail their Leave Travel Concession.
